WWF Uganda Hosts Blue Heart of Africa Initiative Retreat
WWF Uganda successfully held the Blue Heart of Africa (BHoA) Initiative Retreat.
The meeting was attended by participants from Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Tunisia, Netherlands, Denmark, UK among others.
The meeting discussed strategic alignment of the BHoA framework with other transboundary programmes and Landscapes; facilitated commitment from donor offices and landscapes towards BHoA and drew strategies to grow BHoA funding pipeline and income.

The WWF Country Director, David Duli while speaking to the media explained that the Blue Heart of Africa Initiative seeks to unify freshwater conservation activities across African landscapes and across stakeholders by providing an overarching framework that addresses Africa’s key fresh water challenges.
The Blue Heart of Africa is a framework initiative that will ensure that Africa's freshwater resources are effectively managed and conserved to sustain locally and globally important ecosystems, biodiversity and provide a foundation for sustainable development and secure livelihoods.
